As part of the 12th state procurement campaign of the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, Security and Homeland Security, Albert Ziegler GmbH has delivered three identical firefighting vehicles of the type LF 10 KatS to the Kassel fire department. The new vehicles will strengthen the fire departments in Harleshausen, Niederzwehren and Wolfsanger in the future.

The vehicles are based on a MAN TGM 13.290 4×4 chassis with a wheelbase of 3,950 mm and an engine output of 213 kW (290 HP). With a gross vehicle weight of 14 tons and compact dimensions (L×W×H: 7,300 × 2,500 × 3,300 mm), the LF 10 KatS offer maximum manoeuvrability and efficiency - even under challenging operating conditions.

Equipped for the future – with the latest generation of ZIEGLER technology

The superstructure is based on the proven ALPAS system of the latest generation and is supplemented by the ergonomically optimized Z-Cab for a crew of 1+8. It is operated via the intuitive and user-guided Z-Control system in the latest design - for maximum operational safety and extremely easy handling.
The integrated FPN 10-2000-1H centrifugal fire pump in combination with a 1,200 liter extinguishing water tank with drinking water protection guarantees a reliable water supply in any situation. An Ultra Power portable fire pump completes the equipment.

Security, visibility, self-protection – uncompromisingly well thought-out

With numerous special features, the new LF 10 make a decisive contribution to safety and efficiency in use. These include, among others:

  • Z-Vision LED ambient lighting
  • Pneumatic light mast with 8 LED spotlights (4x close-range and 4x wide-range illumination)
  • Sputnik Hybrid front flasher and rear warning system with 4 LED lights
  • Maneuvering lights on the exterior mirrors
  • Turn-off assistant for more safety on the road
  • Self-protection system with 8 ground spray nozzles
  • Power supply via RETTBOX ONE AIR (230 V)

The hygiene board PUSH is available for hygienic everyday use. An engine-independent auxiliary hot air heater also ensures pleasant temperatures in the crew compartment - even during longer winter operations. Other practical details such as a foot switch for acoustic warning devices (“single pass”) and an additional storage box between the driver and co-driver round off the well thought-out equipment.

Another visual highlight is the fluorescent design sticker depicting the “Hercules” – the landmark of the city of Kassel.
