Dräger Compressed Air Cylinders: Less weight, more mobility

Modern compressed air cylinders for firefighters – featuring innovative materials, well-designed safety features and solutions for a variety of operational requirements.

When every movement counts during respiratory protection operations, the weight of the equipment also matters. With its compressed air cylinders, Dräger offers a variety of solutions for fire departments – ranging from proven steel cylinders to composite cylinders and the exceptionally lightweight NANO technology.

Lightweight and durable in operation

The product line includes Type 1 steel cylinders, Type 3 composite compressed-air cylinders, and Type 4 all-composite cylinders. The different designs make it possible to tailor the breathing air supply specifically to the requirements of each operation.

The Dräger NANO Type 4 compressed air cylinder is particularly lightweight: The 6.8-liter, 300-bar version weighs just 2.8 kg, including the impact-resistant caps. This represents a weight reduction of more than 47 percent compared to a conventional Type 1 steel cylinder.

Well-thought-out details for greater safety

In addition to their light weight, the focus is on safe handling and easy integration into respiratory protection equipment. Depending on the model, the cylinders feature an outflow safety device designed to prevent the uncontrolled escape of breathing air in the event of accidental opening or valve damage.

The Dräger QuickConnect system also enables quick cylinder changes without having to spend a long time turning the handwheel. Depending on the material and model, the compressed air cylinders are designed for a service life of 20 or 30 years, or for an unlimited service life with proper maintenance and regular inspection.

The right solution for your Fire Department

Whether steel, composite, or NANO: The right compressed air cylinder depends on the intended use, the desired weight, and the respiratory protection equipment you have on hand. As an exclusive partner, we’re happy to advise you on the available models and help you choose the right solution.
