MLF
Medium firefighting vehicle
A great firefighting vehicle must be designed to meet a wide range of operational requirements without restriction. This includes, above all, storing equipment and devices in such a way that they can be removed ergonomically and safely.
Heavy-duty pull-out drawers in the deep-drawn area of the body, lightweight carrying boxes in the upper area: this not only has a positive effect on handling, but also reduces the effort required to remove equipment. Being able to deploy equipment relevant to the primary task quickly and safely is of utmost importance in the hectic rush of an emergency – one more reason to choose ZIEGLER vehicles with ALPAS superstructure.

MLF
With its standardized medium firefighting vehicle (MLF), ZIEGLER is specifically closing the gap between the TSF‑W and LF 10. Fire departments now have a compact firefighting vehicle designed for a crew of 1+5, which is particularly suited to the requirements of small and medium-sized fire departments. The ZIEGLER MLF is based on a robust MAN chassis and is optimally complemented by the proven ALPAS superstructure.
Operating profile
The MLF is consistently designed for municipal firefighting and covers typical scenarios in local hazard prevention. These include indoor and outdoor firefighting, water supply, storm operations and simple technical assistance. The range of applications is supplemented by basic measures for small and incipient fires as well as support for neighboring fire departments. Thanks to its modular design, the MLF can be specifically adapted to local requirements and risk structures.
Crew and ergonomics
The crew benefits from a clearly laid out cabin with short distances and a clear layout. Seats, holders and communication devices are arranged in such a way that equipment can be prepared and coordination can take place efficiently even during the journey. Large, non-slip footboards, ergonomic handholds and illuminated access points speed up access to equipment – even in the dark and in bad weather.
Superstructure and storage space
The design is geared towards robust everyday usability: structured equipment compartments with a clear system, space for firefighting and rescue equipment and mounts for common add-on modules (e.g., power generators, lighting, rescue timber, door opening and barrier equipment). The flexible shelving design allows for later adjustments without disrupting the basic logic.
Extinguishing technology
The MLF provides powerful and practical extinguishing technology for initial attacks. Portable pumps and built-in pumps, sophisticated hose management and lighting for the scene of the fire are optimally coordinated. The system is designed for rapid deployment, safe water delivery and a reliable supply of extinguishing water. Optional equipment can be integrated as required and adapted to local requirements.
Safety and visibility
Uniform ambient and equipment compartment lighting, distinctive warning markings and an optional light mast enhance visibility and tactical overview. Inside, restraint systems, secure equipment fastenings and clear weight distribution ensure a smooth, controlled ride – even under full load.
Operation and training
Intuitive controls, clear pictograms and consistent logic shorten training time. This reduces sources of error during operation and facilitates cooperation across fire departments. Digital support (e.g., checklists, vehicle diagnostics) and interfaces for existing systems are available on request.
