Munich continues to rely on ZIEGLER

Order for three additional LF 20 KatS

The Munich fire department is receiving further reinforcements: Albert Ziegler GmbH has been commissioned to supply three new LF 20 KatS firefighting vehicles. The vehicles complement the existing fleet as part of the strategic modernization and underline the confidence of the City of Munich in ZIEGLER's proven technology.

The new order follows the extensive framework agreement from 2024 for a total of 83 HLF 20 for the Munich and Augsburg professional fire departments. This consolidates ZIEGLER's position as a long-term partner for modern firefighting vehicles in urban areas and in the field of disaster control.

Ready for every emergency
The LF 20 KatS are built on a MAN TGM 18.320 4×4 BB chassis and have an engine output of 320 HP (235 kW). The robust, all-terrain design with a permissible total weight of 16 tons, a length of 7,300 mm and a width of 2,500 mm allows safe driving even on rough terrain and in adverse conditions thanks to its low-track tyres.
ALPAS of the latest generation offers maximum variability and storage space for the firefighting equipment in the body. The Z-Cab with a crew of 1+8 ensures that sufficient personnel are quickly on site, even in major operations.

"With the three new LF 20 KatS, we are creating synergies with the 80 HLF 20 we have ordered and are thus achieving uniform operation across all vehicles. Thanks to the user-friendly Z-Control operating concept, our emergency crews now benefit from a consistent and intuitive control system for all new vehicles – whether HLF or LF. This makes training easier, speeds up operational processes and increases the safety of our crew," says Jörg Fiebach, Chief Fire Officer at BF Munich.

"The order for the three new LF 20 KatS shows that Munich also relies on proven technology and modern equipment in the area of disaster control," explains Markus W. Weber, CSO of the ZIEGLER Group. "We would like to thank the state capital for its trust and look forward to continuing to support the Munich fire department as a partner."
